Three decades of leadership and experience in Venezuela

PRECA is de largest and most experienced chain of hardware stores in Venezuela to offer constructive solutions in construction and building materials (siderurgical, hardware, finished products and wood).

PRECA stores are affiliated with an enterprise group of renowned prestige and trajectory in the area. The beginnings of PRECA took place in a small lot on the Quíbor-Barquisimeto road in the State of Lara. "Todo para el Herrero", (nowadays PRECA Barquisimeto) formally oponed and became the firts store of its kind. The store began offering low quality pipes.

Later, in 1977, "Hierro Valencia" (today PRECA Valencia) opened to serve the automobile industry, aiming to cover the exhaust pipe market. Hardware products were added later in answer to our customers who requested more variety and more hardware solutions.

"Hierro Mara" (today PRECA Maracaibo) opened in the oil area of Maracaibo. The store was able to supply hardware items and material for oil industry contractors and provide solutions fot their needs.

The early 1980's marked the expasion of Preca Stores to the east region of the country. This was made in association with people who were already familiar with the area and its market. Thus "Hierro Oriente" (today PRECA Barcelona, Zona Industrial Los Montones), "La Casa del Hierro" (today PRECA Barcelona, Sector La Aduana) and "Hierros Magallanes" (today PRECA Puerto La Cruz) began operations in the State of Anzoátegui.

In 1981 "La Casa del Herrero" (today PRECA Maturín, Sector Bella Vista) was inagurated and in 1981 "Herrajes El Tigre" (today PRECA El Tigre) was purchased. Both are located in the State Anzoátegui.

Over the next few years, the chain of stores consolidated the presence in the east and west of the country offering "Soluciones Constructivas" (constructive solutions). New and interesting opportunities emerged from this consolidation.

In 1987 "Ferretería Tabure" (today PRECA Cabudare) opened in the State of Lara, then in 1990 "Hierro Agro" (today PRECA Nirgua) opened in the State of Yaracuy and "Ferregan" (today PRECA Barinas) opened in the city of Barinas.

In 1991 "Ferrocusa" (today PRECA Cumaná) began operations in Cumaná, Sucre state and in 1993 "Hierro Maturín" (today PRECA Maturín, Sector Las Piñas) became the second of the chain in the city of Maturín.

At the end of 2001 the construction of "Ferro Guri" (today PRECA Guayana) began in the city of San Félix, Bolívar State. This store has the largest stock of siderurgical products.

But it was not until June 2002 that the unification of all the stores became a reality under the PRECA trade name. The stores were able to offer the customers a selection of over 10,000 items. Among them, countless building materials, siderurgical products, hardware products, finished products and wood. All these supported by the professional work of more than 600 employees.
